Simplifying This Mom-Life with Adidas Originals Kids from Zappos

Before becoming a mom, I had many assumptions about what the “job” entailed. I expected the late nights. I knew I’d probably battle a picky eater. I also realized there would be a need for help with homework. What I didn’t anticipate, though, was the amount of organization it takes to keep things running smoothly, the amount of “stuff” these little people would require and figuring out how to keep track of it all, and the amount of LAUNDRY there would be every week. It’s exhausting!

One thing I have had to learn quickly now that I am a mom is that if I don’t have a system for the way something is done in our home, then things can turn chaotic pretty quickly. And if there is a mom-hack out there that will make my job easier, then please, sign me up! Thankfully, I have discovered a couple that are worth sharing to help with the battles mentioned above, and they all started with the Adidas Originals Kids line from Zappos.

The first is that on the days our kids have sports after school, which is becoming more and more frequent, I make sure they go to school in their Adidas Originals clothing so that we are covered the entire day. Because these clothes look nice for school, are durable enough to withstand the playground, are comfortable enough for playing at home AND work perfectly for after-school sports, the amount of laundry is tremendously cut down and my sanity is saved. I’ve also noticed a calmer demeanor in the kids after school since I am not asking them to change while also giving them 89 tasks to complete in order to get ready for sports; it’s all just… done. And gosh, it’s so nice.

Which brings me to my next point, the gear. Another battle we used to encounter was keeping track of all the “stuff.” I had no idea there would be so much stuff! Shin guards, soccer socks, soccer balls, goalie gloves, cleats, water bottles, ball pumps; it was madness trying to get it all gathered come early Saturday morning. And believe me, looking for a missing shin guard at 8 am while trying to get everyone out the door is not a fun task! I finally realized keeping it all contained in one place was the best method, and that these Adidas ball backpacks made for the perfect “home” for all the gear. Now, we take these durable, well-made ball bags with us to every sporting event, and as soon as the kids are done with something it goes straight back into its place in one of the many compartments. There is even a special zippered pocket underneath for sweaty or wet clothes, or even dirty shoes, which keeps everything else intact. Zappos has such a nice selection of these ball backpacks and they help keep us all more organized while also preventing eighteen balls and six water bottles from flying out of my car every time a car door is opened, which used to be a frequent occurrence. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to mash my body under someone else’s car trying to retrieve a ball.

And, since we are now in the season of “carpools,” transporting one backpack with everything in it from place to place and car to car has proven to be exponentially easier on everyone involved, too.

Problem. Solved.

Comfort is huge in our home, and because the Adidas Originals clothing line is so versatile and cozy, the kids like to keep them on once home from school while playing around the house. Adidas is known for their quality athletic wear, and I feel good knowing these clothes withstand the amount of use they get with how active our kiddos have become. The same goes for their Adidas shoes, too. I LOVE how this brand incorporates a reinforced toe on all of their shoes and these kids running shoes were created with parents and kids in mind with the design of an attached tongue, keeping it in place, and a handy pull-tab on the back to help get the shoe on with ease. Plus, because their shoes are so lightweight, it makes them really easy to maneuver around in as well.

My daughter recently informed me that the “cool” thing to do is to wear slides to practice or a game and to change into the shoes being played in once there. I got on-board with this trend knowing it would help preserve the shoes, and also gave the kids something to change into when done with soccer so they weren’t walking around in cleats. So, once home, the only thing the kids need to do after school is change into their Adidas Slides, and they are ready for practice since everything else is already in their backpacks. And of course, if the older two are doing something, the little one wants to follow suit as well.

Cutting down on the number of clothes the kids wear every day while making sure the ones they are wearing are suitable for every occasion has become an easy task with the Adidas Originals Kids clothing line. Our kids are happy because they are comfortable and in-style, and I am happy because I am confident they will hold up as well as make my mom-life easier.

My biggest mom-hack is to have a system for all things in our home, and to make things as simple as possible. It just flat-out keeps me sane. I am able to make our sports days run much smoother because of the Adidas Originals Kids clothing line, and for that, I am incredibly thankful.
