My BIG NEWS and the Why Behind It + Amazon Gift Card(s) GIVEAWAY!

I have some pretty big news that I am really excited to share with you all today! News that I have been debating over for quite some time, and that also makes me pretty nervous!

I am rebranding my blog.

There! I said it! And I am so excited to finally share it with you!

And while to some it may not seem like a big deal, as someone who spends a ton of time, energy and even a little money on this blog, it’s a big leap.

I have posed this thought on Instagram a couple of times in the last month, and some feel strongly that I should keep my name, some are open to a change, and some are excited for a change.  For those who are skeptical, here is my why:

My blog started out about seven years ago as a baking blog. Did you know that?! It was called Lady’s Makes and Bakes and showcased all of the things I made. It was small, pretty private and was just a place for me to house my work.

Then, we had another baby, and I put the baking business on the backburner because my time was more focused on my babes.

Still needing a creative outlet, I found myself blogging more and more about motherhood, so before deciding to really delve into the blogging world and buy my own domain, I changed the name to Lady’s Little Loves.

My husband has always called me “Lady.” It was a nickname he gave me when we were dating in college and it is what he still calls me to this day. In fact, I truly cannot think of a time he has called me “Shannon” to my face.

Lady’s Little Loves was primarily a blog about motherhood that also dabbled in craft projects, recipes and other little things I loved.

As the years went by, and my blog grew, I found myself having to spell out my blog name to people when asked about it.

“It’s ‘L-a-d-y-s-littleloves’ not ‘l-a-d-i-e-s-littleloves’ and I know that’s confusing because there should be an apostrophe in ‘ladys’ but since you can’t use those in domains, it can be hard to remember the spelling….”

It has just gotten a little old having to spell and explain it.

And when you first hear the name of my blog, it can be assumed it’s specifically a mom-blog.  Over the years I have found a true love of home décor, and that is where my blog has happily landed for quite some time now. While I still share things I love, or “lifestyle” tips (Including all things motherhood!) I wanted to find a name that defines all that I am and what I enjoy sharing.

Enter the name, Living with Lady.

To me, there is no question how to spell it. It sounds nice and is inviting, which is exactly what I want, to invite you all into our home!

What do you think?! Do you like the look? I really tried hard in keeping the layout the same so you all knew where to go when navigating around.

I also need to give an enormous shoutout to my friend, Taylor, who built this beautiful new site for me. I believe she is a gift from God to me during a time when I was confused where I wanted to go with this little gig. She knew my style, she listened to my ideas, and she helped me tremendously with a smile on her face. And she DREW OUR FREAKING HOUSE! Can you believe that?! I just absolutely love that our house is now my logo and so entirely grateful for all she has done.

And I wouldn’t have a growing blog if it weren’t for you guys, so, thank you! I am truly grateful for where this journey is taking me and it is largely in part to my amazing readers. The support and encouragement is priceless to me and I wish I could just give you al a big giant squeeze!
