Today is our baby’s birthday!

And I think we all should just take a moment to wipe the tears away before moving on.

I’m okay…
I just cannot even believe it. A year ago today we were in that hospital room welcoming our sweet baby into our family, and it was truly one of the best days of my life! (Read about that day HERE)
Since this is our last baby, we knew we wanted to capture this journey as best we could. From pregnancy, to the milestone photos, to our first family of five photos, we made sure to document these milestones along the way with Heidi of Glimpse Photography, and these photos are truly a gift thanks to her amazing talent.
And below, our babe’s one year photos. So bittersweet, I tell you!
Eek! He’s just so cute! And look how perfect the little shirt made by Jess from the Madelyn Ashley Boutique is? I just LOVE it! She has tons and tons in her shop to choose from, has excellent reviews and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I highly recommend her shop!
This little photoshoot was so fun and easy to do and was also in the comforts of our own backyard. I had everything all set up before he was up from his nap, Heidi arrived right on time, he woke up, had a little snack and was perfectly ready for the camera.
It was also so fun watching our babe have his first treat!He picked it up like a ball and began smashing it together in his hands. He did manage to get some of it into his mouth, but he didn’t devour it like our first two kiddos did with their first treat.
Ugh I can’t even stand the cuteness!
Heidi and I also went to her studio, which is absolutely gorgeous! It’s right downtown, has a ton of windows letting in gorgeous, natural light and is filled with a ton of props, backgrounds, and outfits for your choosing.
Something Heidi and I have tried to do with every milestone session is take a progression photo in the same pose so we could look back at the end of the year and see how Franklin has grown. I have shared those at the bottom!

I just love the rustic look of this set-up! Heidi does a great job in having a little bit of everything for every taste.
Gosh, I can’t help but get emotional when I look at these! Look how much my baby has grown and changed! You guys, this. This is why I do it. I get to have these forever, and the quality just supersedes anything I could possibly do on my own. Plus, have you ever tried taking pictures of a mobile baby? So hard!
If there is one thing I have learned over the years when it comes to photos of my kiddos and family, it is to just do it, and get them done right. I have tried in the past to take my own baby photos and they just pale in comparison. And once the time has passed, there is no going back. So forget the excuses and just get them done. You will be so happy you did!
