Baby Franklin Turns 7 Months

June 15, 2016

Our sweet boy has turned seven months and is just changing more and more every day. Knowing that this little guy is our last has me pausing more and more, trying to really soak in these last “firsts.” I realize our kiddos will continue to have firsts throughout their lives, and that really is comforting, but this is our baby. He is the LAST one to experience these firsts. You with me? Emotional, I tell you.

Franklin recently accomplished a pretty big milestone, though I fought it for a little bit. 🙂 While Franklin was playing with his daddy, he made his first sounds, “da da.” Of course, this sent my husband into a ball of excitement, and me into a state of shock and denial. But when he kept putting those sounds together, over and over, I finally had to accept that his first word was “Dada.”

I mean, really, kid?! After all that I do for you, you can’t utter a simple, “mama”  to throw me a bone? Sigh.

He is sitting up really well now, which I think just makes him even cuter, if that is even possible. 🙂

His two bottom teeth remain the only ones, though he is starting to enjoy trying more and more solid foods. He is enjoying small bits of grapes, raspberries, little teething biscuits, bits of string cheese, watermelon, bananas, oatmeal as well as any and all baby mush.

His favorite things include taking baths, riding around in the Bjorn, swimming, gnawing on anything he can get his hands on, playing peek-a-boo, being outside, and he thinks it is hilarious when you shake your hair in front of him.

He is on a nice schedule that is pretty predictable. He goes to bed between 7-7:15 pm, sleeps until about 6:45-7:15 am and nurses upon waking. About an hour later has a little oatmeal and banana, naps from 9-10:15/10:45, nurses, and has lunch at 12 of usually a container of baby mush and some cut up fruit. He naps again from 1-3, nurses upon waking, has dinner at 5 of another container of baby mush and maybe some baby puffs. He nurses one final time around 6:45-7 before being put down for the night.

His nicknames include Frankie, Cranklin, Frankie Doodle, Frankie Mo, Frankie Baby, Frankalino….

I have an obsession of kissing his little feet. I can’t contain myself! They’re just so cute. I wonder how long I can get away with it until it turns creepy…
