Franklin Turns 5 Months

April 13, 2016

Sweet Baby Franklin has turned five months. And what a joy he is! I thought the obsession over this baby in our family would slow down by about now since he isn’t AS new anymore, but that hasn’t been the case. He is still smothered in love every. single. day. Especially by a certain almost six-year-old little girl.

His favorite things include riding around in the Bjorn, grabbing onto just about everything and putting it into his mouth, taking baths (almost always given by Daddy) and sitting outside in a bouncy chair watching the big kids play.image2

He went swimming for the first time this past weekend and totally loved it, too.

He is the SMILIEST baby. If you smile at him, he will smile at you. And allllllllllllll ladies eat him right up. Grocery stores. Post offices. Doesn’t matter. He is a smile-a-holic.

He is wearing 6 and 6-9 month clothing, and (I think?) size 2 shoes. He wore his first pair this past weekend (Thank you, Sara!!). He’s in size 3 diapers and wears a sleepsack when he sleeps. Can you tell I am trying to remember every little detail? I know it won’t be long before this phase is gone and I want to remember it all!

A perfect example of how he treats anything that might be even remotely worthy of being put into his mouth.

“Just posing here next to my giraffe.”

“Oh… hey…”

“Why don’t you just come on over here…”

image8 “So I can eat you!”

He’s not even above shoving his own feet in his mouth

He has been enjoying solids, and we have been trying more and more things. He isn’t a fan of green beans, apples, or pears.

He’s pretty predictable. He eats. He’s awake. He sleeps. Repeat. He goes to bed around 7:30, is woken up at 10:30 to eat, and then wakes up for the day around 6-7.  My husband and I are going on a childless mini trip in a couple of weeks, though, so I still get up at 2:30 to pump an extra bottle every night so that I have plenty to leave behind for him.

His nicknames include (and some I have no idea why…) Frankie Baby, Franko, Frankalino, Little Baby….

This is the smile he flashed his Daddy as he approached. Irresistible, I tell you!.

  1. He’s adorable! I tried to take our daughter swimming when she was around the same age and she HATED it!! Haha! She screamed and screamed until we had to take her out of the pool. Thankfully she’s grown to like it. 🙂

  2. I love this age. Everything is a great discovery and must be taste tested. Sure its extra work for us moms to keep up with, but they start showing a little of their own personality and its amazing! Hes adorable!

  3. Oh my gosh, Franklin is sooo adorable!!! I miss that stage so much. I did posts about that when Sophie was her age. I got this app for free Memento, but it may be something you’d like to keep up with memories and milestones. It does cost money.

I live Franklin’s giraffe too! Where did you get it?
