Our bedroom on a budget

November 18, 2014

Good morning!

One of my favorite places in the house is our bedroom. I’ve always wanted a “pretty” bedroom and with the  romantic ceilings and natural light of this space it immediately set the tone.

My graduation gift from HIGH SCHOOL was  a new bed. Because it was sturdy and had ample storage, we used it until just a year ago.  The first photo is from our first house as a married couple. The next one was at our rental house last year once this bed graduated to the guest room.

I created this room so far on a budget, though I don’t think it looks that way! Below are the sources!

Wynona Bed in Talc- Joss and Main- I see this off and on!  I remember it being around $400?

4 Piece Paige Comforter Set- I remember it being around $120. It took some convincing on my part to persuade The Hubby to get a ruffle comforter. He said it would be like “sleeping in a wedding dress every night.”- Which, hey!? Is that so bad? In the end, he went for it and it’s just so, so pretty.

Ruffled Euro Shams-$19.99 and you can use a BB&B coupon for each item you purchase at this store. And if they’re expired… doesn’t matter! So, I got two of these ruffle shams for about $30, which is just madness!

Burlap Euro- I made it to match the white ruffle euro pillows with the help from my friend, Rachelle. Thanks again!

Burlap throw pillow- Local boutique.

Crystal Plug-In Swag Pendant Chandeliers- Lamps Plus and Amazon– $99.00- (ON CLEARANCE!!!) If you call Lamps Plus and ask for free shipping, they’ll do it for you! I did!   And I cannot stress enough; these are on CLEARANCE!! Last I checked they only had 17 left! You guys, these are BEAUTIFUL! And overall fabulous in every way! Have lamps taking up too much room on your nightstand? Taken care of! These turn on and off right by your bedside, too!

Nightstands- Craigslist!- $20 each! Score!

Eight Pane Window- $5.00- From a local antique store. So cheap because it’s missing on pane.  I was originally going to punch the rest out until I decided to put a galvanized initial in it, instead!

Galvanized Letter M- Anthropologie- A friend actually got this for my birthday a few years ago.

I took this photo right after we hung the window and letter. I knew we needed a throw blanket to break up the white of the comforter as well as a couple more throw pillows and took the next photo after getting those. And while I loved the clock in our room, it has since then found an even better spot somewhere else in the house…
