Cinnamon Stick Candle and Christmas Centerpiece Ideas

December 5, 2012
To me, cinnamon = Christmas. So when I saw this picture on Pinterest I just had to make my own. And it is EASY!!!
Materials:
Candle in the scent of your choice
Cinnamon sticks (I found them at Bed Bath and Beyond)
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks
Twine, ribbon, or string to wrap around
Directions:
It’s pretty self-explanatory, really. Just use your hot glue gun to glue the cinnamon sticks around the candle, making sure to sort of measure the amount of space you have left when close to finishing so you make sure to have a cinnamon stick that will fit the last spot. When dry. tie your twine/ribbon/string around it and enjoy the wonderful, cinnamon smell throughout the holiday season!
Remember these cranberry centerpieces I posted as a Thanksgiving or Christmas idea? While I LOVED the vibrant red color, after a week or two the cranberries do spoil, so I wanted something that would last through Christmas this go-around and decided on mixed nuts in the shell.
I think I will replace the brown twine with red, but other than that, I am quite pleased!
What do you think!?

Happy Wednesday!

  1. I found cinnamon sticks at Bed Bath&Beyond also, and purchased vanilla scented flameless candles. Tried to hot glue sticks to candle, but wouldn’t hold (frustrating)… Then tried Elmer’s glue and the same thing happened. If you have any suggestions, I surely would appreciate it.
    Many thanks, Wendy

    1. Hi Wendy,
I am wondering what kind of glue sticks you used? Some are low temperature sticks and those don’t tend to hold very well, in my opinion. Maybe try using a higher temp hot glue gun stick?

      Warmly,
      Shannon
