I went to coffee with my Silly Monkey recently, and as I was ordering I was holding Gwyneth in my arms when she pointed toward one of the shelves and said, “Mommy!”
What was she trying to show me? Nothing seemed outrageously awesome, and the yummy treats were below where she was pointing, so a little confused, I brushed it off.
That is, until she leaned toward the shelf and again excitedly squealed “Mommy!” while pointing to an object and trying to reach it. I saw what she was referring to and picked it up off the shelf, in which she quickly grabbed with delight. I couldn’t help but laugh.
This is what Gwyneth thinks of me:
What a peach. What a doll. I guess children this age always tell the truth, right?
Still laughing, I told Gwyneth, “Noooo! That’s not Mommy!!” But she wouldn’t have it. She was now showing the other patrons in the store her Mommy Doll. The barista was in hysterics and the gentleman behind me was trying his best not to snicker too loudly.
Before I knew it she had plucked another off the shelf and now had “two Mommies!” and was just too proud of her discovery.
What a sweetheart. 🙂 Happy Tuesday!
Warmly,
Sumo Mama
