Molly’s Trader Joe’s Recipes

February 10, 2026

These recipes were actually suggested by my friend Molly, and I couldn’t wait to give them all a try. Sharing them here in case you’re looking for something new to add to your dinner rotation.

Farro with Sausage & Apples

Ingredients:

  • 1 package Trader Joe’s 10 Minute Farro
  • Chicken Broth
  • 10 Trader Joe’s pork sausages
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 large apples, chopped

Prepare farro according to package directions, boil in chicken broth for more flavor, set aside. In a large skillet over high heat, crumble sausage and stir until browned, about 5 minutes. Remove sausage and set aside, keep sausage drippings. Add onion, garlic and apple; sauté until tender, about 5–6 minutes. Add farro and sausage back to skillet; season to taste with salt, pepper; stir until warmed through, about 1 or 2 minutes more. Serve warm.

Cabbage with Bacon

Ingredients:

  • 5-10 pieces of bacon, diced
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped

In a large skillet cook the diced bacon until crispy. Add the diced onion and cook until softened, stir in the minced garlic. Add all of the chopped cabbage, it may look like too much but trust the process.  I let my cabbage cook for about 10 minute before stirring, add the bacon back in, and serve.

Chicken Shawarma

Ingredients:

  • Trader Joe’s Chicken Shawarma Thighs
  • Trader Joe’s Baladi Egyptian Sourdough Pocket Bread
  • Trader Joe’s Garlic Spread Dip
  • Toppings of your choice, kalamata olives, tomatoes, lettuce, feta cheese

I cooked the chicken thighs in the air fryer at 375°F for 18–20 minutes until perfectly cooked through. Then I sliced the chicken, spread a generous layer of garlic dip inside the pocket bread, stuffed it with the chicken, lettuce and tomatos and served. So simple, so good.

Cheddar Chicken Sausage Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Cheddar Chicken Sausages from Trader Joe’s
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • ½ onion, sliced
  • Artisan Style Sandwich rolls (also from Trader Joe’s)
  • Butter
  • Cheese of choice (I used provolone)

Directions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the cheddar chicken sausages until browned on each side. Remove them from the pan and set aside. In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and onion, sautéing in the leftover drippings until soft and slightly caramelized.

While the peppers and onions cook, lightly butter the sandwich rolls and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet. Top each roll with your cheese of choice and place under the broiler for a few minutes, just until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Place sausage, peppers and onions on your roll and enjoy!

Enjoy!
