Chocolate Chunk Sea Salt Cookies + Free Printable

December 11, 2020
These are hands down the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. Maybe even ever eaten. And I have definitely had my fair share of cookies, as they are my weakness. These are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Sweet AND salty. And HEEEUGE!
The ONLY downside to these cookies is that you must have patience. Something, that when a sweet tooth strikes, I sadly do not have. These bad boys take at LEAST 24 hours to chill in the fridge before baking.
That’s rough. Brutal, even. So, you could go ahead and make yourself sick and eat a plethora of dough like I did if you’d like while waiting. I don’t recommend it, though. Ughh…….Save me from myself!
Yields appx. 35 giant cookies!

The size of each cookie dough ball… and I do not have small hands!

You can only fit six on each sheet. I suggest having at least two cookie sheets going so that when one is done, you can pop in another while the cookies cool.

And this is what you get… and I do NOT have small hands.

You will not be disappointed!

As always, thank you for stopping by!

  1. Yay! I’m glad you found the recipe! They’ve totally been my go-to recipe for the last year or so too, and I’m never sorry when I make them! Just so you know, there have been a few times where I’ve only left them in the fridge overnight, and they still turn out perfect. Ya know, just in case you can’t wait a full 24 hours for deliciousness…

    1. I am SO glad I found it too! I wasn’t sure if this was the one you used, but once I made them and saw them come out of the oven, I KNEW it had to be the one!! I am SOOO glad to hear that you don’t have to wait the full 24 hours! I literally made myself sick eating the dough!

  2. I made these tonight to ship overseas to my daughter who is in the Air Force deployed. They are so good. I did add a little bit of a preservation agent so that it will extend their shelf life. Thank you so much for the recipe 😘

  3. Are the chocolate chunks dark chocolate? So far, that’s all I’ve seen at my store and want to be sure I get the right kind. Thanks! Can’t wait.

  4. Can’t wait to try this but can anyone tell me how long they have to stay on the pan before moving to cooling rack? Recipe states they will continue cooking on the pan but I don’t want to take them off too early or too late – thanks!

  5. Shannon!!!
You have way out done yourself with these cookies! AMAZING! cooked them last weekend and am already having to make another batch for tomorrow. Thank you for sharing!💕

Have you ever put any caramel bites in it to make them sea salt caramel chocolate chunk cookies? Husband requested the addition so thought I would check to see if you had.

  6. I found these very hard to mix, way too much contents for my kitchen aid mixer by the end with all the flour, do you all have larger mixers or do this by hand or am I missing something ? Thanks! Put in the fridge for chilling and hopefully will turn out when I bake them tomorrow!

    1. Me too! My Kitchen Aid started smoking by the end 🙂 Would love to hear if there is a trick! Also, I made them once before and they were a huge hit. So doing them again for neighbors this Christmas.

      1. Me three!! my kitchenaid was working overtime with some spillage for sure….it got it done and it was SOOOO worth it, but i’m also curious to know if there are any tips there.

  7. I have made these cookies 4 times since this summer and get rave reviews each time I make them. For Christmas I’m making them with white chocolate and dried cranberries. Hope they turn out as good as the chocolates chip ones
