Our Family Halloween Costumes 2018 (and throughout the years)

October 31, 2018

We have been doing family Halloween costumes for the last six or so years and have kind-of agreed that we will continue doing these until the kids stop asking us to. While dressing as an over-sized snowman or wearing spandex may not be ideal, it just means so much to our kids, so we do it with a smile.

They decide on the theme, and we make it happen. So without further ado, here we are!

2018- The Incredibles

Mr. Incredible, Elastagirl, Violet, Dash, Jack Jack, Edna, Syndrome, and Incredipup. We had so much fun with this theme this year! I hope our kiddos continue to ask us to do this for many more to come!

2017- Moana

Moana, Maui, Grama Tala, a Kakamora (the coconut people), Te Fiti (the green mountain lady), Te Ka (the scary fire mountain), and Hei Hei. My sweet mama made most of these costumes for us, and we couldn’t have been more pleased! She went ALL out!

Last year, my in-laws got in on the action since they usually spend Halloween with us, and this adds even more excitement for the kiddos.

2016- Royalty

This is how the convo went this year:

Gwyn- I want to be a princess!

Cal- I will be a dragon!

Gwyn- daddy can be my prince!

Cal-Frankie can be my baby dragon!

…………. long pause………..

Me- What about mom?

Gwyn- ………You can be the castle!!!

2015- The kids didn’t ask to do one this year, so we didn’t! Plus, mama was due with baby in a few days and was more than happy not to squeeze into a costume.

2014- Frozen

Elsa, Anna, Sven and a giant Olaf

I just have to give my sweet husband ALL the praises for wearing a giant Olaf costume. He was truly the “Belle of the Ball” around the neighborhood, with little kids thinking he was the real deal.

I was never a Halloween person post-childhood. I never dressed up in high school, rarely in college, and it wasn’t until sweet Gwyn asked me to be mama bear did I even consider putting on another costume. These sweet kids just do something to me!

I hope you all had a safe, and happy Halloween! Now…. to hide the masses of candy… from myself!

Thanks for stopping by!
