32

December 21, 2016

I recently turned thirty-two, and it started out a little bit rocky.

The day began with a nice birthday wake-up by my babe, Frankie, at about 11:30 pm.  And then I guess he just really missed me and wanted to make sure he was the first one to really wish me a happy birthday because he was then up around 1:30, 3:30, 5:30 and then up at his normal time of 7:15. My poor baby was sick, and he needed his mama.

Thankfully, my husband took the reins in the morning and let this mama sleep in, and when I finally awoke around 8:30, I was surprised by a wonderful breakfast and party from my family. I LOVED this. And my gosh, I LOVE them, too.

My babe was still all about his mama, so we spent the better part of the morning together. But, during his morning nap, my husband and I worked on my birthday gift. I feel strange writing that, but my husband let me know that for my birthday he was going to complete a project I had been hoping for for a little while.  I was beyond excited to really get this going, so we spent a couple of hours working on it together during this time. (Thanks, Mom, for helping with Frankie!)

And while the boards dried, my mom and I then took the big kids to the Davenport Hotel for their gingerbread house building event, which was a ton of fun!

We originally had plans to go out to dinner, but with a sick babe I knew my place was to be at home taking care of him. So, we had leftovers! My husband continued on with the project, and I helped when I could, and that’s how we ended the day.

A few days later, my sweet friends took me out for my birthday which was so incredibly sweet and fun. I am blessed to have such caring, beautiful and thoughtful friends who want to make a girl feel special.

On our way home I was riding with two of my pals, and before I knew it Kathy was shouting from the backseat at Jessica to flip around immediately and the excitement in her voice got us all riled up.

And before I knew it…. there it was.

One of my all-time favorite past-times….. BINGO! And while I had never played with my friends, they did know of my secret obsession, so this couldn’t have been more perfect.

It had been years since I had played (long story) and we just so happened to stumble upon a bingo hall filled with the best people EVER. And luck was definitely on our side because we arrived right on time.

AND, to make it even better, the great folks down at the Bingo hall paraded this birthday mug and balloons out to our table which just sent us into extreme happiness.

Okay, maybe it was just me.

I was blessed with sweet messages, gifts and calls from friends and family and I just want to say a big thank you! I appreciate you all!

  1. Well well…happy 32nd bday! Looks like it went from rocky to smooth though with all the love you had for the big day. I just turned 30 so I’m apart of the 30’s club. Loving it so far 😉
