For the last three weeks the family and I were in Nevada. I am originally from there and that is where The Hubby and I met in college, so we make an annual trip down there to see my family and so that The Hubby can tend to his business.
It’s not really a vacation, though. The Hubby stays in Reno working and the kids and I primarily stay in in another nearby city with my family, though we did make it up to Reno on the weekends to see friends.
We crammed a lot into these three short weeks and below is a little glimpse of what we’ve been up to!
A nice thirteen hour car-ride deserves a treat or two, don’t you think?
Once we arrived, it didn’t take the little ones longl to convince Grandma for a pedicure.
We bounce housed…
We played in the water…
We went to gymnastics…
The kids made a scarecrow with Grandma..
We spent the night with friends (a few times!) and stayed up late playing cards and talking by the fire… (Can you guess what game we are playing? I have a HORRIBLE hand.)
We went to Food Truck Friday and ate delicious food, took a train ride and threw rocks in the pond..
We went to the pool with our pals…
Grandma put together a fairy garden and a horsie barn for the kids and they played and played with these…
We ran through the sprinklers…
The Hubby and I went out on a date to the ball field and a late night (second) dinner…
After the kids went to bed some girlfriends and I had a bake-a-thon..
We painted rocks for the garden…
We went to our God-daughter’s graduation…
We met long-time friends for a playdate at the park…
Grandma painted the kids a picture of each of their favorite thing at the moment which was a HIT…
We stopped to eat at random food trucks on the side of the highway… Could have been dangerous, thankfully it wasn’t. 🙂
We petted butterflies…
We had a picnic in the park with friends…
We went on an amazing treasure hunt…
We had a graduation party for The Hubby…
We painted out in the yard and made stepping stones…
Grandpa made a waterfall sprinkler and that was another HIT.
We went to Jump and Shout with friends…
And we played in the dirt…
We had a great time seeing our family and friends while in Reno. In fact, it made us miss our old lives back there. But, it feels GOOD to be home. I’m just about done unpacking and getting everything put away… only to re-pack for the lake next week!
Summer livin’!
What is your favorite thing to do with your family in the summer?
Thanks for stopping by!
