During our whole married life we have never had a dining room table. We just wanted to wait until we were in our permanent home before deciding on something that may or may not work elsewhere.

So, now that we have been in our new home for just over a month one of the first things we wanted to do was to finally get a table that could seat more than just our little family.

We looked at tons and tons of tables and chairs. Tons. And while on a date last week we decided to check what some local stores had in stock and that is when we stumbled across The One. The one that made us stop in our tracks. The one that made us drag various chairs all across the store trying out different combos. The one that had us put the leaf in and out numerous times.

It was a trestle table and it made us swoon.

And I immediately thought about some chairs from World Market that I thought would go better than the ones that were supposed to be a part of the set.

So right after we left the table store we high-tailed it up to World Market and yes. Yes, I thought they would all go together nicely.

Oh and did I mention it was ALL ON SALE!?

Yes. I know.

We went home….. thought about it. Walked around the room and imagined the pieces in the space.

And went and picked it all up two days later. 🙂

]

Remember this settee I found on Craigslist?! Well, it happens to go with our table, too! Our original thought was that we would get a bench later on that went with the set to add some seating when we had more guests but when we got home and threw this up to the table and saw how well it went we just gave each other a high five instead.

And all of the table decor came from Marshall’s. The priciest item was the lazy suzan center piece, and that was a whopping $12.99. Score.

Swoon…..

These chairs make my heart go pitter patter
