It&#8217;s too good not to.<\/p>\n<p>We all know hardwiring lighting is a real pain, especially when there isn&#8217;t any wiring in the wall\u00a0to begin with, leaving lighting options a bit limited&#8230; normally.<\/p>\n<p>But, with just a little battery and remote-operated light, the options suddenly become much greater.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16538 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/image3.jpeg?resize=347%2C463\" alt=\"image3\" width=\"347\" height=\"463\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The spaces above our windows have always been oddly large and I have slowly been trying to find ways to make them look more proportionate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15751 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/image6-1-1.jpg?resize=315%2C420\" alt=\"image6-1\" width=\"315\" height=\"420\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We started by putting these blinds over the window and hung them much higher than the actual window to make it appear longer, and then we added some curtains to make the\u00a0windows appear wider.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15745 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/image3-2.jpg?resize=338%2C451\" alt=\"image3\" width=\"338\" height=\"451\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I always wished we had put the curtains a little bit higher as there was still a bigger space I didn&#8217;t like until I came across the light trick. Now I am glad we didn&#8217;t!<\/p>\n<p>I bought two sconces for a screaming deal (<a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/2DVs3Na\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/a>) and then bought a three-pack of hockey-puck lights (the smaller kind, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2SLDr6q\">here<\/a><\/strong>) and that is all I needed. Update- The sconces appear to be sold out at the moment, but a similar sconce can be found <a href=\"http:\/\/bit.ly\/2DUVuNj\">HERE.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16519 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/sconce.jpg?resize=207%2C216\" alt=\"sconce\" width=\"207\" height=\"216\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-16518 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/lights.jpg?resize=203%2C203\" alt=\"lights\" width=\"203\" height=\"203\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These particular sconces were plug-ins, but being above windows I couldn&#8217;t have the cords hanging down, so my husband cut the wire in the back and then I simply attached the light to where the light bulb would normally be with the double-sided sticky circle the lights came with.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">(Photo showing puck light attached to where the bulb would normally go)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16544 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/image4-copy-1-e1517463716695.jpeg?resize=316%2C421\" alt=\"image4 copy\" width=\"316\" height=\"421\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>THAT IS IT!<\/p>\n<p>Then, we hung the lights and were done! The remote turns them on and off, and you can also push the center of the light to turn them on as well (like a button).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-16540 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/image4.jpeg?resize=392%2C523\" alt=\"image4\" width=\"392\" height=\"523\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The lights give off a nice, subtle glow, so if you are looking for a bright light to light up an entire room, this isn&#8217;t what you are looking for.
