What I thought was just going to be a quick, low-key trip to Las Vegas to spend a day with my guy while he was away for work turned into one of the best, most unforgettable experiences of my life.<\/p>\n<p>Pretty bold statement, I know.<\/p>\n<p>My wonderful in-laws watched the kids for us, so it was just the two of us\u00a0on this trip, just to preface.<\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t get in to Las Vegas until about 9:30 pm on Friday night, but was greeted at the bottom of the escalator with my favorite coffee and a rose. My husband is well aware of my slight obsession with the show <em>The Bachelor<\/em>, so he created our very own Bachelor-esque date, all planned and ready to go for the next day. And, he didn&#8217;t tell me a single thing about it, except that we needed to be ready by 10 am.\u00a0\u00a0(If you remember, this isn&#8217;t the first time he&#8217;s done something like this, so if you missed it, go\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/livingwithlady.com\/2013\/02\/my-fantasy-bachelor-esque-surprise-getaway.html\">here<\/a> to catch up.)<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13398 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image1-26.jpg?resize=324%2C576\" alt=\"image1-26\" width=\"324\" height=\"576\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The next morning we filled up on an insanely large breakfast of chicken and waffles at Hash House a Go-Go before going to the front of our hotel where we were greeted by a driver.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13384 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image1-1.jpg?resize=336%2C598\" alt=\"image1\" width=\"336\" height=\"598\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I love surprises, so going into this date blindly was just so much fun. I had no idea where we were going and our driver didn&#8217;t let in on the secret, either.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13400 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image2-copy.jpg?resize=329%2C586\" alt=\"image2-copy\" width=\"329\" height=\"586\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then.. we arrived at the airport!<\/p>\n<p>And hopped on a helicopter!<\/p>\n<p>And for those of you who watch <em>The Bachelor,<\/em> you know this was a very Bachelor-esque move. And I ate every romantic bite of it.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13399 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image1-copy.jpg?resize=346%2C615\" alt=\"image1-copy\" width=\"346\" height=\"615\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So at this point I thought we were taking a tour of Las Vegas&#8230;and being from Nevada I totally appreciate the beauty in mountains, so I was really enjoying the scenery and the adventure in being up in a helicopter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13385 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image2-1.jpg?resize=354%2C629\" alt=\"image2\" width=\"354\" height=\"629\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13386 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image3-1.jpg?resize=336%2C598\" alt=\"image3\" width=\"336\" height=\"598\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But then we kept going, and before I knew it we were approaching something that looked a little familiar from photos I&#8217;ve seen in the past&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13387 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image4-1.jpg?resize=336%2C598\" alt=\"image4\" width=\"336\" height=\"598\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And after we went over a little cliff it was fully visible and this is when I had my freak-out moment.<\/p>\n<p>And I cried.<\/p>\n<p>I did.<\/p>\n<p>I was so overwhelmed by my husband&#8217;s thoughtfulness in planning such a special date and the beauty that surrounded me.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-13388 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image5-1.jpg?resize=345%2C613\" alt=\"image5\" width=\"345\" height=\"613\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We were at the Grand Canyon!<\/p>\n<p>And it was absolutely breathtaking.<\/p>\n<p>I could not believe it. I just could not believe this was all happening.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-13389 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image6-1.jpg?resize=360%2C640\" alt=\"image6\" width=\"360\" height=\"640\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We flew around it for a while taking in all of its beauty, before we landed! We landed down in the freaking Grand Canyon!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13390 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image7-1.jpg?resize=379%2C674\" alt=\"image7\" width=\"379\" height=\"674\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And then we had lunch&#8230;. at the Grand Canyon&#8230;. when we had previously been in Las Vegas 35 minutes before. I just could not wrap my mind around it. Can you tell?<\/p>\n<p>I am still in awe!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13391 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image8-1.jpg?resize=390%2C694\" alt=\"image8\" width=\"390\" height=\"694\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I mean look at that!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13392 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image9-1.jpg?resize=404%2C718\" alt=\"image9\" width=\"404\" height=\"718\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I had NO idea Las Vegas was so close to where we were so this was the last place I ever would have imagined we would end up. I could not stop thanking my husband for such a wonderful experience and was just as giddy as can be the entire day.<\/p>\n<p>Once back we shopped around the strip a little bit before having a wonderful dinner in the Aria hotel followed by dessert at Serendipity, a place I have always wanted to try.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13395 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image12.jpg?resize=435%2C773\" alt=\"image12\" width=\"435\" height=\"773\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13396 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image13.jpg?resize=436%2C775\" alt=\"image13\" width=\"436\" height=\"775\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And when we got back to our room, the other roses awaited my arrival, completely finishing this date off perfectly.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-13401 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/livingwithlady.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/image3-copy.jpg?resize=446%2C793\" alt=\"image3-copy\" width=\"446\" height=\"793\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Our flight left Las Vegas at 7:30 the next morning, so while a very quick trip, it was truly a trip I will never forget.
