{"id":11428,"date":"2015-10-26T04:00:43","date_gmt":"2015-10-26T11:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ladyslittleloves.com\/?p=11428"},"modified":"2018-12-09T00:27:11","modified_gmt":"2018-12-09T00:27:11","slug":"dear-middle-child","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/livingwithlady.com\/2015\/10\/dear-middle-child.html","title":{"rendered":"Dear Middle Child"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>You have always been my baby.<\/p>\n<p>The baby brother to your sister.<\/p>\n<p>The baby to our family.<\/p>\n<p>The last one I carried in my stomach, the last one I nursed, the last one I toted around for months.<\/p>\n<p>You are the one who snuggled me when your older sister refused.<\/p>\n<p>The one who I let get away with more than I should have.<\/p>\n<p>The one who I kept in soft footie jammies and a protective crib.<\/p>\n<p>You have always been my baby.<\/p>\n<p>We are about to welcome your new baby brother or sister.<\/p>\n<p>And you are going to be the big brother<\/p>\n<p>A new role for you lays ahead.<\/p>\n<p>For this, I worry.<\/p>\n<p>How will you handle being an older sibling?<\/p>\n<p>How will you handle being the middle child?<\/p>\n<p>How will you handle life completely changing?<\/p>\n<p>For this, I worry.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard for me to imagine you in this role.<\/p>\n<p>I know you will be sweet to this baby. I know you will be kind. I know you will be protective and loving, too.<\/p>\n<p>You express your excitement to help, to feed, and to care.
