Our Cal turned three a couple of weeks ago and he had a little super hero party with his buddies. I wanted to keep costs down, but still allow for him to have his family and friends around him to celebrate his special day in a way that he would enjoy. Below are the details!

I really liked the idea of doing capes as the favors for the kiddos, but everything I found online was around $10 (on the cheaper side) per cape, and that just wasn’t going to happen. So, I decided to make them myself and used THIS tutorial. I am also not a whiz on the sewing machine, so this tutorial was perfect for me. Because it uses fleece it cuts the sewing WAY down since fleece doesn’t fray.

I looked around for the best prices and believe it or not, Walmart is the place to go. At under $3 per yard, I was able to make two capes per yard of fleece making each cape approximately $1.50. And for the birthday boy, I sewed on his little initial.

For an activity, the kids decorated these super hero cuffs with foam stickers. And made out of toilet paper rolls, these were very inexpensive to put together. Most of the attendees were around three years old, so I wanted something they could do themselves. And these foam stickers were easy to peel for their little hands. Foam stickers can be inexpensively found out the dollar store and Walmart.

All paper products from the dollar store, including table runner. Table cloth from Ikea a few years ago.

Web Blasters…. for an activity later! Silly string found at the dollar store. Free Spiderman Web Blaster printable found HERE.

The superhero printable package I bought on Etsy is found HERE, and I printed everything at my house.

Some homemade treats and snacks

Template for the chocolate webs found here

Thor’s hammer…NOTE! Do not make these the night before! The pretzels will get soggy in the grapes and get quite disgusting. Do them a few hours before and you will be good to go! I also made these Spiderman Baby Bel cheese snacks, which I forgot to get a photo of.

Source

Masks from Walmart

After snacks we spotted someone special out the window!

Some of the kids were beyond excited, and some a little more hesitant…. 🙂

But they grabbed their Web Blasters and hunted him down for an attack

And we had one happy, happy birthday boy. Adult Spider-man costume from HERE. Get your babysitter’s college friend to play the part and you’re set!

Spidey came inside to join us for cupcakes.

We finished the party off with a pull-string pinata, which I highly recommend! The kids LOVE doing them, there aren’t any wild bats flying around, and they can be done indoors if preferred, too. This one is from Walmart.com found HERE (free ship to store) and I have also seen it at Target.
